Our Ceiling Drywall Repair Process

1. Site Prep: To protect your space, we cover furniture, flooring, and any other areas that could be affected during the repair process with 1.5 Mil plastic floor sheeting, and 3M Advanced Masking Film, which will statically collect any dust .

2. Assessment: We then conduct a comprehensive inspection of the damaged ceiling to identify the cause of the damage, and confirm any waterproofing has been properly completed before installing the drywall patch

3. Hang : We cut back the damaged ceiling area to a nice, clean, square shape, and reinforce the existing drywall by fastening it to the rafters. This is a very important step that most contractors miss, which will always lead to cracked joints, failed seams, and call-backs. We then install the new sheetrock patch.

4. Finishing: We always use high strength fiberglass reinforced mesh tape on our joints, along with chemically hardening plasters for the first two coats. This is important to prevent cracks, because of the floor or roof deflection from food traffic, and snow load above. We always finish with a lightweight joint compound for a smooth, seamless transition to the existing ceiling.
